Jive is energetic, a great workout, seriously social and lots of fun. Our classes will help build up your confidence with basic moves that look great whilst dancing to fantastic music. No experience or partner necessary for our Jive Dancing classes.
PILATES (commences Monday 24th June , 2019)

Pilates is a mind body conditioning programme that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine, to improve overall core stability and posture. Pilates Mat classes teach you how to strengthen and stabilize the spine while positively changing the tone and shape of your body. Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs and is extremely beneficial for those who have had or who are currently suffering from back or neck pain.

Using Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out and rocking out!
TAI CHI (commences Monday 24th June , 2019)

Tai Chi is an ancient form of mind/body exercise rooted in the unique Spiritual Philosophy of Taoism. This is best summed up by the famous Yin/Yang symbol which reflects harmony, balance and perfect relationship. Tai Chi is a practical application of this theory and is therefore a perfect antidote to the negative effects of modern life. The practice itself involves subtle postural alignments combined with mindfulness training. It promotes a return to deep natural breathing which improves the flow of Qi [energy] to the internal organs. The nervous system relaxes and releases stress, leading to a profound feeling of well-being. The Tai Chi Form is a moving in and out of specific body positions in coordinated patterns. The movement is slow, precise and pumps energy around the body releasing blockages and strengthening weaknesses. It also has a Martial aspect and can at the advanced levels function as a self defence method. Tai chi benefits are well documented; conditions known to respond well include fatigue, stress, anxiety, low mood, poor immunity, weak digestion, back/bone and muscle problems, menstrual dysfunction, blood pressure and arthritis.
YOGA (commences Monday 24th June , 2019)
Mary 7.00 to 8.30 pm (10 weeks)
Improve posture and flexibility and create freedom of movement in joints. Emphasis on breath work to still the mind and relax the entire body.

This class is suitable for people with common ailments ie osteoporosis, back problems, MS, arthritis, blood pressure, etc. Also excellent for people suffering from insomnia. Hatha Yoga is a gentle type of yoga, yet is very effective. Come and improve your flexibility, health, and well being. You will experience improved mobility, breathing and a healthier lifestyle. Wear loose clothing and bring a yoga mat and a warm blanket.

The tutor, Frankie Heany, is 15 years qualified as a yoga instructor with YTI (Yoga Therapy Ireland).
