Cake Decorating 

Over the 8 weeks, you will learn techniques that will help you to create unique and original celebration cakes.  The course aims to provide you with an opportunity to master basic sugarcraft skills, which, mixed with your own creativity will allow you to create and decorate centerpiece worthy cakes.  You will learn how to cover a cake, create fun figures and sugar flowers.

TUTOR WILL EMAIL STUDENTS EACH WEEK TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT MATERIALS TO PURCHASE/BRING TO CLASS

6 Week Course (Post-Easter)–Tutor will email students course content and weekly ingredients.

 

8 Week Course (Spring)

Week 1: 

Valentine’s Day theme.

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Bird cake topper.

Bear cake topper.

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6/7 inch, 1kg sugar paste (white), 250gr sugar paste (red), 250gr sugar paste (brown).

 

Week 2:

Mother’s Day theme

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6 inch, 1kg white sugar paste. We will decide on the first day.

 

Week 3:

Saint Patric’s Day theme

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Modelling a Leprechaun (cake topper)

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6/7 inch, 1kg sugar paste (green), 250gr sugar paste (black).

 

Week 4:

Easter time.

Rabbit cake.

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Modelling stuff for cupcakes.

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6/7 inch, 1kg sugar paste(white), baby blue, orange, and green colours.

 

Week 5:

Under the Sea

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Modelling Octopus, Sea Ray…

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6/7 inch, 1kg sugar paste(baby blue), green, and purple.

 

Week 6:

Farm cake.

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Modelling Cow, Piggy, Zebra…

Material: Styrofoam (cake shape) 6/7 inch, 1kg sugar paste (baby blue), green, red and white. 

 

Week 7:

Jungle theme.

Cover a cake with sugar paste.

Modelling Leon, Giraffe, Baby Sheep…

Unicorn cake.
