Course Overview
This course will cover as far as is possible, the routine service requirements of Marine installation. Students will be invited to partake in practical demonstrations. Diesel and petrol covered. Dismantling and reassembly will not be covered. All equipment and tools are supplied. Please bring a notepad and pen.
This class is suitable for beginners/improvers and no previous experience is required. Those who complete the course will have a sound basic knowledge of the subject.
Course content:
This course will cover, as far as is possible, the routine service requirements of both Outboard and Inboard Marine engines. Dismantling and reassembly will not be covered, although a limited amount will be possible on a small outboard engine.
Please bring a notebook and pen.
The class is suitable for beginners/improvers, and no previous experience is required.
The tutor, Brian Hughes, has worked in the Marine Industry since 1970, and has experience of many different engine types, both inboard and outboard, more recently specialising in Yamaha outboards.
RNLI approved training DVD for both Inboard and Outboard engines.
Basic service procedures.
Troubleshooting.
Students who own or use a marine engine are encouraged to discuss their own engine problems.
