POST EASTER TERM: Brian will accommodate both mediums in both classes so if you wish to use oils or watercolours; it’s your choice! Recommended materials are available at the bottom of this page in a pdf file.  This is a six-week course of practical classes introducing students to key concepts and techniques for confident and skilled painting in the medium of oils. The course is suitable for both beginners and improvers. Emphasis is on individual, not group progression.
The principals of painting, composition, tone and colour-mixing are covered in depth, and students will be taught brushwork and how to build up paintings effectively. 

Subject matter is largely a matter of choice.  Beginners will be encouraged to participate in observational  drawing and still life exercises to build confidence and skill. 

The teacher will show you examples of different types of mixing mediums and equipment over the 10 weeks (you can decide what suits you after a while)
