 Course DESCRIPTION

IMPROVERS COURSE:
 
Course Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of manual control of a DLSR/mirrorless camera.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • Must have a laptop with Adobe Lightroom* (Classic) and Photoshop* or a Tablet with Lightroom and Photoshop installed.
  • *This software can be obtained from Adobe Creative Cloud (Photography Plan €12.29 per month, inclusive of VAT: includes Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop on desktop and iPad and 20 GB of cloud storage.
 
Course Overview:
 
Over the course of this 10-week course, participants will be introduced to Adobe’s Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. These are two of photography‘s industry/practice standards in terms of editing, post-processing, final presentation and printing. 
 
As well as learning the practical applications of both software, participants will also learn photographic techniques such as bracketing (HDR), creating panoramas, composites, Monochrome conversion, and elevating good images to great images!
 
The course will include the practical learning of LIghtroom and Photoshop, workflow practices, process tutorials and photography. Image files will be provided where appropriate and necessary.

Adobe LIghtroom:Introduction to LIghtroom Classic
Importing Raw files, Adding Keywords, Image Rating, Creating Collections;
Develop Mode: White Balance, Cropping, Post-Production Tools, Presets, Hue Saturation B&W Panels, Batch Processing, Exporting, File Sizing and Types;Book Mode: Book Layouts;
Slideshow Module;
Print Module;Web Module.
Associated photographic techniques.

BEGINNERS (SEPTEMBER 2024 ONLY)

Basic Digital Photography y is a beginner DSLR instructional course designed to introduce students to the basic processes and techniques of working with digital photography. The course will cover camera operation, equipment, composition, lighting, digital workflow and aesthetic understanding. Students will learn how to use photography as a creative tool for self-expression, social exploration and still documentation. This is a fun, hands-on course. A digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera and laptop are required.
