Due to the current situation, we want to ensure your personal safety. Though you may never have thought of practicing Yoga online, you will soon get used to this novel way of enjoying your practice.

You will need to ensure your camera is on and that your phone or laptop is positioned in such way that it captures your body as you move through the poses while at the same time being able to see the screen without straining your neck and back.

For this reason, we will keep the movements as simple as possible.

What is Yoga?

Yoga means union of body, mind and spirit. It is alchemy in movement. It gives us tools to transform negative events, feelings and emotions into positive.

We learn to slow down, breathe, meditate and clear the cobwebs from our energetical bodies, gradually peeling off the veils that prevented us from seeing our own inner beauty and to connect with our own inner strength.

What matters in Yoga is the journey, which is internal, yet manifests itself through our whole body: physical, emotional, mental & spiritual.

Who is this class for?

This class is for all levels, from very fit to those with impaired mobility, from adept yoga enthusiasts to complete beginners.

If you suffer from restricted mobility or are recovering from illness or surgery and your GP or consultant is happy for you to take part, I can tailor my teachings to your ability. First and foremost, with yoga we learn to listen inwards and to move gently, never pushing, always paying attention to how the body feels.

What are the benefits of taking this class?  The last 6 months have been very challenging at many levels.

A lot of our practice will be focused on developing breathing and relaxation techniques to release stress out of the body as well as building confidence, improving concentration, and boosting the immune system.

Non-verbal practices, such as Yoga, can assist us in reprogramming our whole self, giving an opportunity to heal ourselves with our loving presence, and the integrated changes overflow into how we live in the world.

Through our practice of Yoga we are connecting with something greater than our small selves.

What equipment do you need?

  • a Yoga mat
  • a chair with a straight back
  • a phone or laptop with camera on which zoom programme can be accessed
  • a jumper, warm socks and a blanket for the guided relaxation.

For your own safety, please ensure that:

  • the area in which you wish to practice is free from
  • you have adequate lighting
  • you are not positioned immediately in front of a window.
  • ideal wear is jogging bottoms and tee-shirt.

Your Teacher:  Marie Angeline Lascaux is a very experienced yoga teacher who works from an inner place of knowing leading people to their inner self with love, great energy, and sensitivity, guiding each person to their potential.

She qualified in 1998 from Yoga Therapy and Training Centre, Newry. Her additional qualifications include: ITEC/FETAC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Holistic Massage, Practitioner/Presenter of Aura-Soma, Reiki/Seichem Master/Teacher, Train the Trainer facilitator, Occupational First Aid, and much more. Yoga for over 50’s / Active Retired

This class is suitable for people with common ailments ie osteoporosis, back problems, MS, arthritis, blood pressure, etc. Also excellent for people suffering from insomnia. Hatha Yoga is a gentle type of yoga, yet is very effective. Come and improve your flexibility, health, and well being. You will experience improved mobility, breathing and a healthier lifestyle. Wear loose clothing and bring a yoga mat and a warm blanket.

The tutor, Frankie Heany, is 15 years qualified as a yoga instructor with YTI (Yoga Therapy Ireland).

Hatha Yoga

Hatha means “union”, and the intention of this class is to unify your body and mind.  Hatha yoga is a slightly slower paced stretching class with simple breathing exercises and some meditation.  This class is great for beginners or to expand on your regular practice.
